Description

A Navel Orange (Citrus sinensis 'Navel') is one of the most widely recognized winter orange varieties, famous for the small, second fruit embedded at its apex that resembles a human belly button, as well as its sweet, low-acid juice and seedless flesh.

Physical Appearance

Fruit: Medium to large, round to slightly oval fruit with bright, deep orange, pebbled skin that peels relatively easily. The interior features juicy, seedless, bright orange segments surrounding a characteristic tiny, aborted secondary fruit at the blossom end.

Foliage and Flowers: Grows on dense evergreen trees with broad, dark green, glossy leaves and highly fragrant, five-petaled white flowers that bloom in early spring.

Growth Habit: A compact to medium-sized evergreen citrus tree reaching 15 to 30 feet in height, forming a rounded, symmetrical crown with sturdy, thornless or low-thorn branches.

Habitat and Growth

Origin: Traceable back to a single mutation discovered in Brazil in the early 19th century, later imported and heavily developed in California, South Africa, and Australia.

Climate: Thrives in subtropical and Mediterranean climates with hot, dry summers and cool, frost-free winters, which help trigger its rich orange pigmentation and optimal sweetness.

Soil: Prefers deep, well-draining, fertile loamy soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH; highly sensitive to root rot in waterlogged ground.

Uses

Culinary: Best eaten fresh out-of-hand as a table fruit, sliced into fresh salads, or processed into orange zest and marmalade; less commonly used for commercial bottled juice as its juice contains limonin, which can turn bitter over time.

Nutritional: Packed with Vitamin C, dietary fiber, folate, potassium, and beneficial citrus flavonoids that support immune function and heart health.

Order cancellation & reschedule delivery

Any cancellation of order or reschedule delivery shall be made before 6pm from the same day of placement of your order ("Grace Period") by contacting our customer service officer at veggies.my@gmail.com or our hotline: 016-6505535. Any request for cancellation made or reschedule delivery after the Grace Period will not be entertained.

We reserve the absolute discretion to approve or reject your request for cancellation or reschedule delivery. For any cancellation of your order, you shall be responsible for the payment of an administrative charge, which shall be determined by us prior to your cancellation. Notwithstanding anything stated to the contrary, no cancellation or reschedule delivery will be entertained once your orders have been shipped to your shipping address.
