A red dragon fruit (also known as Red Pitaya) is a tropical cactus fruit celebrated for its striking magenta skin and deep, ruby-red interior flesh packed with subtle sweet flavor.

Physical Appearance

Fruit: Medium to large oval fruit covered in smooth, bright pinkish-red skin with leafy green-tipped scales (bracts). The interior flesh is a vibrant, deep magenta-purple, speckled with small, soft, edible black seeds, offering a mild, sweet, and juicy profile similar to a blend of kiwi and pear.

Foliage and Flowers: Features fleshy, three-angled, jointed green stems (cladodes) with small spines. It produces huge, fragrant, night-blooming white flowers that open for only one night.

Growth Habit: A climbing, epiphytic or semi-epiphytic cactus that uses aerial roots to cling to trees, posts, or trellises, growing up to 10 to 20 feet long with long, arching stems.

Habitat and Growth

Origin: Native to Central America and northern South America, but now extensively cultivated throughout tropical regions worldwide, particularly across Southeast Asia.

Climate: Thrives in warm, frost-free tropical and subtropical environments with full direct sunlight; tolerates dry periods but requires consistent moisture during flowering and fruiting.

Soil: Requires highly porous, light, well-draining soil mixed with organic matter or sand to prevent root rot from excessive water retention.

Uses

Culinary: Enjoyed fresh chilled by scooping out the flesh, blended into colorful smoothie bowls and juices, diced into fruit platters, or used as a natural, intense red food coloring agent.

Step 5: Customer’s order fulfilled.

Order cancellation & reschedule delivery

Any cancellation of order or reschedule delivery shall be made before 6pm from the same day of placement of your order ("Grace Period") by contacting our customer service officer at veggies.my@gmail.com or our hotline: 016-6505535. Any request for cancellation made or reschedule delivery after the Grace Period will not be entertained.

We reserve the absolute discretion to approve or reject your request for cancellation or reschedule delivery. For any cancellation of your order, you shall be responsible for the payment of an administrative charge, which shall be determined by us prior to your cancellation. Notwithstanding anything stated to the contrary, no cancellation or reschedule delivery will be entertained once your orders have been shipped to your shipping address.
