Description

A Permai 5 Melon is a high-performing hybrid rockmelon/cantaloupe cultivar widely cultivated in Malaysia, celebrated for its dense netting, high sugar content (Brix), and sweet, vibrant orange flesh.

Physical Appearance

Fruit: Round to slightly oval fruit with a firm rind covered in dense, light-tan netting over a pale green to yellow background. The inner flesh is thick, juicy, and striking deep orange with a small seed cavity, offering a crisp-yet-tender texture and intensely sweet flavor.

Foliage and Flowers: Features broad, rough-textured, heart-shaped or lobed green leaves along hairy stems, producing small, bright yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers.

Growth Habit: A fast-growing trailing or climbing annual vine that stretches 6 to 10 feet, often grown on trellises in fertigation systems or sprawling along ground beds.

Habitat and Growth

Origin: Hybridized and heavily produced in Malaysia, serving as a primary commercial choice for local rockmelon growers and modern greenhouse/fertigation farms.

Climate: Thrives in hot, sunny, and humid tropical lowland environments, requiring high sunlight intensity to maximize sugar accumulation.

Soil: Performs exceptionally well in well-drained growing media such as coconut coir (coco peat) in fertigation setups, or loose, sandy loam soil rich in organic nutrients with good drainage.

Uses

Culinary: Eaten fresh as a premium table fruit, diced into fruit platters, served with ice cream and shaved ice, or blended into refreshing juices and smoothies.

Commercial: Highly favored by local growers for its uniform fruit weight, strong disease resistance, high market acceptability, and reliable sweetness.

Step 4: Warehouse receives order and items picked, packed & delivered to customer.

Step 5: Customer’s order fulfilled.

Order cancellation & reschedule delivery

Any cancellation of order or reschedule delivery shall be made before 6pm from the same day of placement of your order ("Grace Period") by contacting our customer service officer at veggies.my@gmail.com or our hotline: 016-6505535. Any request for cancellation made or reschedule delivery after the Grace Period will not be entertained.

We reserve the absolute discretion to approve or reject your request for cancellation or reschedule delivery. For any cancellation of your order, you shall be responsible for the payment of an administrative charge, which shall be determined by us prior to your cancellation. Notwithstanding anything stated to the contrary, no cancellation or reschedule delivery will be entertained once your orders have been shipped to your shipping address.
