Black Fungus (Auricularia heimuer, commonly known as Wood Ear or Cloud Ear mushroom) is a prized edible fungus in Asian cuisine, celebrated for its unique ear-like shape, gelatinous texture, and satisfying snap.

Physical Characteristics

• Size: Packaged in a fresh 200g portion featuring whole, tender fronds.

• Shape & Color: Cup- or ear-shaped, wavy, paper-thin fronds with a smooth, dark brown-to-black upper surface and a soft, velvety greyish-brown underside.

• Texture: Smooth, rubbery, and gelatinous yet remarkably crisp, providing a distinct firm crunch when bitten.

Taste and Culinary Uses

• Flavor: Very mild and neutral with a faint woody undertone, excels at absorbing the rich flavors of sauces, broths, and seasonings.

• Culinary Applications: An essential ingredient in hot and sour soup, stir-fries, cold appetizers, dumplings, steamed fish garnishes, and hot pots.

• Preparation Methods: Trim off any tough central stem attachment; slice into thin strips or leave in bite-sized fronds, then blanch for cold appetizers with black vinegar and garlic, or stir-fry over high heat.

Growth and Origin

• Native Habitat: Native to temperate and subtropical broadleaf forests across Asia, traditionally growing on decaying hardwood logs in damp conditions.

• Cultivation: Cultivated under controlled humidity and shade on organic wood sawdust bags. Harvested at optimal frond thickness without synthetic pesticides or chemicals.

Any request for cancellation made or reschedule delivery after the Grace Period will not be entertained.

We reserve the absolute discretion to approve or reject your request for cancellation or reschedule delivery. For any cancellation of your order, you shall be responsible for the payment of an administrative charge, which shall be determined by us prior to your cancellation. Notwithstanding anything stated to the contrary, no cancellation or reschedule delivery will be entertained once your orders have been shipped to your shipping address.
